IAU had the pleasure of a visit from Prof. Ha Nguyen today. Prof. Nguyen is a full-time professor with Hanoi School of Business, Hanoi, Vietnam. Executive Director, Ryan Doan, completes the "DETC Course on Preparing for Accreditation" and receives a Certificate of Completion. A key person at IAU must enroll in and complete the DETC Course on Preparing for Accreditation to qualify as a Compliance Officer as the first step towards preparing for accreditation.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) conducted a site visit to IAU in mid-January. The site visit is a standard process when campuses undergo a major change. In this case, IAU's change of location warranted a site visit. IAU had the pleasure of having Ms. Linda Plax conduct the site visit. Ms. Plax was the site visitor who conducted IAU's initial site visit near 3 years ago. According to IAU DSO, Maylin Mendez, the staff visit went very smooth and IAU anticipates to receive its continued approval from SEVP.

Pres. Peter Vinh resigns as President of IAU. Pres. Vinh provided the driving vision when establishing IAU in 2005. IAU is indebted to Pres. Vinh for all his contributions to the university.
Dr. Stephen Tvorik is appointed as President and will continue to provide strategic planning and guide IAU in 2010 and its upcoming projects to grow the university.
Leading the academic office now will be Dr. Guy Langvardt, who will now serve as Dean of Academics. Dr. Guy Langvardt will assume all responsibilities of the academic office.

In 2010, IAU prepares to celebrate its 5th year anniversary. To commemorate, IAU will be introducing its new ID card design. This design embodies IAU, incorporating the unofficial eagle “mascot”, as well as other design cues that IAU stands for. It is a bold design that points IAU into its bold direction for 2010.

IAU is recognized by the Association for Private Postsecondary Education (APPEC) as a founding institutional member.
TheState of California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) held workshop on Jan 23, 2008 in Van Nuys, CA to elaborate on the future of California legislation and private education oversight. Key IAU administrators were in attendance.
IAU finalizes its plan to launch its branch campus in Palmdale, CA. Classes to commence Jan, 2008. This joint program with CAS Academy expands their initial partnership to provide a comprehensive academic program that focuses on professional business competencies.
IAU receives its College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) College Code #2641. Students can now send their CLEP scores directly to IAU.
Despite the issues facing IAU since the Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education (BPPVE) closed, IAU enters into a Voluntary Agreement with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) on July 21, 2007 to continue to operate, abiding by former BPPVE regulations.
